Happy birthday to London Calling, the epic double album released 30 years ago today by the Clash. Many consider this to be the greatest album of all time, and it’s hard to disagree with that assertion at least from an influence standpoint. To be honest, the only reason I don’t is because it’s a little before my generation. Not that all music isn’t created equal, but this stuff had to have been more groundbreaking when it came out. That said, this is still an iconic album and one of my favorite overall albums. If by any chance you don’t know about it, go buy it. How is it possible to not know about these guys?
