Why? – Eskimo Snow

Why? follows up their critically acclaimed ‘08 album Alopecia with a departure from their usual sound. While lead singer Yoni Wolf still has his bag of fascinating lyrics and rap-like delivery, the backing instrumentation has more or less abandoned the hip hop roots and has taking more of a turn toward indie rock. Which isn’t a bad thing. The hits far outweigh the misses overall, and while I still prefer it’s predecessor, Why? puts forth an effort that I thoroughly enjoyed. I humbly recommend.
